I love working with high quality florals and foliage to create unique bouquets, arrangements and installations, whatever the occasion. A gift that is unique and beautiful, how every gift should be.
Based in a grade II listed building in the village of Wheathampstead, our unique shopping experience includes beautiful homeware, locally crafted artisan products and we are the area stockist for Frenchic, an eco-friendly chalk & mineral paint.

Weddings
Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life and it’s so important to choose the right florist for you. Whether you are having an intimate wedding with close family and friends or are planning a large scale event in 2021 or beyond, it’s never too early to start your floral plans and begin turning your vision into reality. You can be assured that the combination of beautiful blooms, those little extra special details and the reassurance that I have everything in hand will make your day as special as can be.
Wedding party flowers, table arrangements, church flowers and venue decor can all be scaled up and down to perfectly compliment your style of wedding.
Funerals
Flowers to reflect the life and personality of the individual as well as the sentiment of the sender are the number one focus when it comes to funeral flowers.
I work with you to ensure that the whole process of organising your flowers for that final farewell is as simple as it can be, appreciating that you are grieving and it’s a difficult time.
I am independent so there’s no commission paid to funeral directors. I liaise with them to ensure your farewell flowers are delivered at the relevant place and time so that you can trust that’s all taken care of for you.

New baby? Birthday? Anniversary? Thank you? I love you? Or just because?
There are so many occasions where beautiful flowers are welcomed with joy and delight or you may wish to treat yourself to fresh blooms to complement your home or workplace.
Whatever the occasion, I love to use my creativity and flexibility to produce a truly unique design to represent your message.
Workshops
Workshops are back. There’s something special about the buzz of workshops and everyone creating something slightly different to the next person and we have lots of fun along the way.
For families, groups of friends or parties, my workshops are relaxed and informative. Whether held in your home, garden, my shop or your workplace, I provide all materials and step by step guidance, including top tips, advice on preparing your blooms and maintaining your arrangements to keep them at their best.
So, whether it’s learning a new skill, taking some ‘me’ time, sharing a mutual love of flowers or unleashing your creative side, we’ve got it covered.
I have a background in HR and also provide tailored workshops for teambuilding and wellbeing events in the workplace or offsite, aimed at improving engagement, wellbeing and communication.

A little about me
To me, flowers are part of everyday life, the home and workplace and always have been. My official floristry journey started in my 40’s after more than 20 years in the corporate world as an Executive Assistant. A change in circumstances and a desire to further develop my existing love and knowledge of flowers lead me to retrain at college and alongside established florists. Before long, Flowers by Catherine became my full time role.
Our ethos of reduce, reuse and recycle has always featured in my creations, partly due to my love of vintage wares and a love of creating something out of the ordinary. Where possible, I use eco-friendly methods in my designs and source seasonal flowers locally to support British growers.
I’m doing what I love and loving what I do – and those organisational skills also come in very handy when it comes to managing everything involved with running your own business!
